Measurement Incorporated (MI) staff will be attending the 2017 National Conference on Student Assessment in Austin, Texas June 28 - 30. MI Senior Vice President Dr. Michael Bunch will be one of three presenters discussing Validating Interim Assessments for Various Purposes and Uses Including for ESSA. The National Conference on Student Assessment is the premiere forum for assessment practitioners to discuss what is happening in the real world of educational assessment. Dr. Bunch’s expertise in the development of criterion-referenced, high-stakes testing programs is well known among assessment professionals. His advice in both technical and practical matters related to assessment programs is widely sought, and he contributes regularly to the advancement of those programs through national organizations such as the American Educational Research Association, the Council of Chief State School Officers, and the National Council on Measurement in Education. He has taught graduate-level statistics and research methods classes and has been a regular contributor to Mental Measurement Yearbooks since 1985. In 2005, he was recognized by the Buros Institute of Mental Measurements as a Distinguished Reviewer. He has been involved in PEG’s research and development from the earliest days of conversations between Dr. Page and MI. He has recently contributed, along with Shayne Miel and David Vaughn, a chapter on automated scoring – featuring PEG – to Technology Tools for Real-World Skill Development, edited by Yigal Rosen, Steve Ferarra, and Maryam Mosharraf.
